Buy any Cell C starter pack and do NOT open it

RICA your SIM card

SMS #portme#serialnumber# (note: this is the serial number of your new Cell C SIM) to 084 767 8287 from your MTN, Vodacom or Virgin Mobile SIM card

You will receive two confirmation SMS's within two hours on your MTN, Vodacom or Virgin Mobile SIM

Wait 24 hours until your MTN, Vodacom or Virgin Mobile SIM card stops working

Then you can insert your new Cell C SIM card and recharge to start making calls
If you activate your new Cell C SIM card before following the steps above, you will not be able to use it to port your number.
Numberless SIM Swap
In the event that your SIM card is lost or stolen, simply purchase a new Cell C starter pack, call our call centre and activate the new pack on your existing cellphone number. Here’s how:

Purchase a new Cell C Starter Pack from any participating outlet.

Dial 084 140 from a landline or another cellphone

Have the following ready when you call:

your ID number
-
3 frequently dialled numbers

last recharge information
-
new SIM card serial number
-
Wait 24 hours before inserting your new SIM card into your cellphone.
