outs of C-Cover

Depending on your choice of added subscription fee, C-Cover covers you for:

  • Up to R12500 depending on the value of your cellphone, in the case of theft, loss and damage
  • Up to R2000 lost airtime for unlawful usage
  • Up to R3000 on your outstanding balance due to death, involuntary retrenchment or permanent disability

Just remember, the covered SIM card must be used together with the covered handset and your cellphone must only be used on the Cell C network. Should you upgrade or replace your phone during the contract period, it is up to you the subscriber to let us know.

How do I report an incident?

Cellphone is lost or stolen
You must contact the Customer Care on 084 140 from your landline or 140, free from a Cell C cellphone, to obtain an ITC number. Only once the ITC number is obtained can you report the matter to the police for a case number. The case number is only used for C-Cover incidents or to blacklist your cellphone.
For further details, please refer to the Terms and Conditions under clause G.

There are two ways to have your cellphone blacklisted:

  • Telephonic Option - which is the fastest
In order to blacklist your cellphone, you can simply dial 084 140 from your landline or 140, free from a Cell C cellphone, to have the phone blacklisted. No documentation is required.
  • Electronic Option
You can email custserv@cellc.co.za or fax 084 14329 requesting to blacklist your cellphone. An agent will fax or email a blacklisting form to you. You must complete the form and fax back to 084 14329.

What happens when you have recovered your lost/stolen phone

  • Phone Cell C immediately on 140 from a Cell C cellphone or 084 140 from any other phone (charged at cellular rates) to unfreeze your account.
  • The call centre will fax you the unblacklist form.
  • Complete the forms and fax them back to us on 084 14329.

What to do when your cellphone is damaged

  • Call 140 toll-free from a Cell C cellphone or 084 140 from any other phone (normal cell rates apply).
  • Select the technical repair option and obtain the details of your nearest technical repair centre.
  • Send your cellphone to the technical repair centre.
  • The technicians will inspect and repair your cellphone.
  • Complete the incident form. Fax the completed form back to the C-Cover administrators on 084 167 6571.
