  What is Byond? +

  Byond is a month-to-month subscription where your calls, data, and SMS's come off your wallet balance at the best rates Cell C has to offer. You have total flexibility to use the funds in your Byond wallet however you want. The higher your subscription amount, the lower your rates.

  There are no bundles, and we don't allocate the amount of data, voice, or SMS's you get. No more having to decide whether you'll talk more or use the internet more.

  How is Byond different? +

  Byond's month-to-month subscription service means you're free to increase, decrease, or stop anytime. You don't have to decide upfront how many GBs and minutes you need and you can add funds to your wallet as needed.

  You get the best rates Cell C has to offer without having to hunt for specials. The higher your subscription amount, the lower the rates, so you know you're getting a great deal without any effort.

  Subscribe, check your usage, and manage your subscription on the Cell C app or website. Byond has simplified your mobile experience so that you can focus on what actually matters to you.

  How does the Byond wallet work? +

  The Byond wallet is where your chosen subscription amount (rand value) is kept. Whenever you use data, minutes, or SMS's with your Byond subscription the funds will deplete from the Byond wallet. You'll be able to see how much you've used and what's left in your wallet when you log in to your Byond dashboard online.

  Can I use funds in my Byond wallet to buy other Cell C bundles? +

  No. Byond has been designed so that you won't need to look for or learn any types of bundles. If you run out funds in your Byond wallet, you can simply add funds when you need and continue to enjoy the same great rates.

  Can I send funds from my Byond wallet? +

  You won't be able to send funds from your Byond wallet to someone on the Cell C network who isn't a Byond subscriber, or to someone on a different network.

  Does Byond have bundles? +

  No. The benefit of Byond is that there are no bundles. You don't get allocated specific amounts of minutes or data. You can use your Byond subscription however you choose to suit your connectivity needs.

  How much does Byond cost? +

  Byond subscriptions start from R200. You choose how much you want your monthly subscription to be, and you can change up or down whenever you want.

  What rates do I get with Byond? +

  With Byond, the higher your monthly subscription amount the lower the rate is per megabyte, minute, and SMS. Take a look at all the rates in detail.

  Can I use Byond for international calling?+

  Yes! You can use your Byond subscription to call internationally.

  How do I get Byond? +

  It's quick and easy to subscribe to Byond. Visit the Cell C app or the Cell C website to choose the best subscription for you.

  How do I move to Byond from a different network? +

  If you're with a different network provider, simply choose your Byond subscription to get started and select "Keep my number" to move that number from your current network to Cell C.

  Your existing provider will have to approve the change so keep an eye out for messages from them to continue the process.

  How do I move from Byond to a different Cell C package? +

  If you'd like to cancel your Byond subscription and move to a different Cell C product, please contact one of our call centre agents on 084 135.

  Can I keep my number when I move to Byond? +

  Whether you're with Cell C or another network, you have the option to keep your existing number when subscribing to Byond.

  To move to Byond, simply choose your Byond subscription and select "Keep my number".

  What happens to my existing Cell C airtime and data when I move to a Byond subscription? +

  If you're moving to a Byond subscription and already have airtime or data from other Cell C products, you'll be able to see those balances on your dashboard on the Cell C website or app.

  Data: Any data you have left will be used before the amount in your Byond wallet starts to deplete.

  Airtime: Any airtime you have left will be used after you've used the full amount in your Byond wallet, i.e., if your subscription ends or you don't add funds.

  How do I add funds to my Byond wallet? +

  It's easy to add funds to your Byond wallet! Just log in to your account online, go to your dashboard and choose the amount you'd like to add.

  Please note: You can only add funds to your Byond wallet online via the Cell C app or website.

  How do I check my Byond balance? +

  Log in to the Cell C app or website and go to your dashboard to check your Byond balance and/or add funds.

  How do I pay for Byond? +

  You can pay for your Byond subscription using your chip and pin bank card. Once you've signed up for Byond and have chosen your subscription amount (rand value) you can save your bank card details so it's easy to auto-renew your subscription every month or add funds when you need to.

  Can I set up a recurring payment for Byond?+

  Yes. You can save your bank card details when you subscribe to Byond and your subscription will auto-renew every month on the same date.

  How long will it take to deliver my Byond SIM?+

  Your Byond SIM will be delivered within 3 - 5 business days.

  How do I track my Byond order?+

  To track your Byond order you can simply log in to your dashboard on the Cell C app or website, go to "Order history" and click "View order status".
  
  You'll also receive an SMS with a tracking link from one of our courier partners when your order is out for delivery. If you won't be at home to accept the order yourself, or you missed the delivery, you can contact the courier company directly via the link in the SMS or on their website.

  Do I need to RICA my Byond SIM?+

  Yes, by law all SIM cards in South Africa must be RICA'd for your protection and to prevent fraud.

  You'll need to RICA your Byond SIM to activate your subscription. Once you've received your SIM you can easily RICA online. https://www.cellc.co.za/cellc/rica-sim-info

  How do I RICA my Byond SIM?+

  You can easily eRICA your Byond SIM online. You'll need:

  • A copy of your South African ID book/card, or your passport if you're not a South African citizen.
  • A copy of proof of residence not older than three months.
  • The unique number on your Byond SIM pack

  How do I manage my Byond subscription? +

  Log in to the Cell C website or app to view and manage all the details of your Byond subscription.

  How do I cancel my recurring Byond subscription? +

  You can cancel your Byond month-to-month subscription anytime via the Cell C website or app. You'll still be able use the value in your wallet once you've stopped your subscription and you can still add funds to your Byond wallet at any time.

  You'll remain on your current Byond rate for 60 days after you cancel. View T&Cs

  The funds in your Byond wallet don't expire so you won't lose any money, even if your rates change. However, we won't be able to refund any money left in your Byond wallet once your subscription has ended.

  How do I activate my Byond SIM? +

  Once you've subscribed to Byond, you'll receive your SIM via courier. Follow the instructions on the SIM pack to activate your Byond account online.
