Cell C Spin and Win Promotion - Terms and Conditions

  1. It is important that you understand and agree to these Terms and Conditions in order for you to participate in the Spin and Win Promotion ("Spin and Win")
  2. All standard Terms and Conditions of Cell C and Cell C Service Provider apply to Spin and Win.
  3. Spin and Win is organised, and prizes are sponsored, by Cell C (Pty) Limited, registration number 1999/007722/07 ("Cell C"), and is open to all active Prepaid Customers on the MegaBonus tariff plan during the Promotional Period.
  4. For the purposes of Spin and Win, a "Participant" is any natural person that participates in the Competition, accepts the terms and conditions applicable to Spin and Win, and who is an active Cell C MegaBonus Customer. All Participants must be 18 (eighteen) years or older, or assisted by a parent or guardian.
  5. The MegaBonus terms and conditions apply to all Participants of Spin and Win.
  6. Directors, members, partners, employees or agents of or consultants to Cell C, or their sponsorship agency, or spouses, life partners, parents, children, siblings, business partners or associates of such persons, are not eligible to participate in Spin and Win and therefore may not win any of the prizes.
  7. Spin and Win will run from 00:00:00 on 01 October 2016 to 23:59:59 on 31 January 2017 ("the Promotional Period").
  8. You understand that all information (including these terms and conditions) relating to Spin and Win which is published on any promotional or advertising material, or on Cell C's website, at any time before or during the Promotional Period, will form part of the terms and conditions of entry.
  9. Cell C reserves the right to withdraw Spin and Win at any time before the Promotional Period is over, in its absolute and sole discretion, on notice to you.
  10. Cell C accepts no responsibility whatsoever, including but without limitation, for any error, omission, interruption, defect and/or delay in operation or transmission, or communication line failure, during the Promotional Period, when such errors are not under Cell C's direct control and execution.
  11. Spin and Win is not open to MNVO and CST Customers.

Access to Spin and Win on MegaBonus

  1. Spin and Win is available to all active and qualifying Cell C Prepaid Customers on the MegaBonus tariff plan.
  2. Existing Prepaid Customers can migrate into MegaBonus via *108# or *147#.
  3. New or Ported-in Customers can purchase a Cell C starter pack and migrate to the MegaBonus tariff plan via *108# or *147#.
  4. Spin and Win shall be available to the customer via the Cell C website i.e. www.cellc.co.za/spinandwin , Cell C App and USSD i.e. *107# after performing a qualifying recharge.
  5. When a MegaBonus Customer performs a qualifying recharge, the Customer shall receive a SMS notification advising the customer that they are now able to participate in Spin and Win.
  6. Customers will receive a maximum of 1 (One) Spin per recharge denomination/voucher.
  7. The MegaBonus tariff plan and terms and conditions are applicable to Spin & Win.

How to Qualify for Spin and Win

  1. To qualify for Spin and Win, Customers must recharge with a minimum value of R5 (Five Rand) or more in order to participate in Spin and Win.
    a. The R5 (Five Rand) recharge is non-cumulative, meaning the customer must recharge with a minimum of R5 (Five Rand) in a single event.
  2. Customers shall still receive MegaBonus benefits if they perform a recharge of R5 (Five Rand) or more.
  3. Any qualifying recharge performed via any recharge channel shall qualify to participate in Spin and Win (excluding Airtime Share and Emergency Airtime).

Customers can participate in Spin and Win via USSD and WAP

USSD - *107#

  1. As soon as a customer recharges with a qualifying denomination/voucher, a SMS shall be sent to the Customer to prompt them to select a letter/number on the USSD menu via *107#. One recharge of an amount of R5 (five Rand) or more = 1 (One) opportunity to select a letter/number.
  2. Qualifying recharges of R5 (Five Rand) or more will entitle customers to select one letter/number per recharge from a list of 5 (Five) letters i.e. A to E.
  3. The letters/number on the USSD represents possible prizes i.e. Bonus Airtime/Cash or Lifestyle prizes that the customer may win by selecting a letter/number.
  4. If a customer recharges with R5 (Five Rand) they will have 1 opportunity to select a letter/number on the USSD. Should a customer recharge with R50 (Fifty Rand), the customer will still only receive1 (One) opportunity to select a letter/number on the USSD, but the higher the recharge value, the higher the chances of winning a larger prize.
  5. Customers who perform multiple recharges during a particular day, and do not go into the Spin & Win App immediately, shall accumulate the opportunities to select a letter/number for that day, however, all these opportunities will expire at midnight on the day of recharge.
  6. Customers must always select a letter/number in order to redeem a prize.
  7. Opportunities to select a number/letter are only valid until Midnight (23:59:59) on the day of the qualifying recharge and there will be no carry over.

WAP- Cell C Website/ Cell C App

  1. As soon as a customer recharges with a qualifying denomination/voucher, a SMS shall be sent to the Customer to prompt them to click on the "spin" button on the Spin and Win App via www.cellc.co.za/spinandwin or via the Cell C App. Please note that if you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, Cell C will not be able to identify your number to allow you to Spin & Win. You will be requested to enter you cellphone number to continue to open the Spin & Win game.
  2. Qualifying recharges of R5 (Five Rands) or more will entitle customers to 1 (One) Spin per recharge denomination/voucher on an interactive game board. One recharge of an amount of R5 (Five Rand) or more = 1 (One) Spin.
  3. The symbols or a logo on the interactive game board represents possible prizes i.e. Bonus Airtime/Cash and Life Style prizes that the customer may win by clicking on the "spin" button.
  4. If a customer recharges with R5 (Five Rand) they will receive 1 (One) spin, and the customer shall be entitled to a "Spin". Should a customer recharge with R50 (Fifty Rand), the customer will still only receive 1 (One) Spin, but the higher the recharge value, the higher the chances of winning a larger prize.
  5. Customers who perform multiple recharges during a particular day, and do not go into the Spin & Win App immediately, shall accumulate spins for that day, however, all spins accumulated will be expire at midnight on the day of recharge.
  6. Should customers spin and get 5 (Five) "C" logos aligned horizontally on the interactive game board, they will stand a chance of winning either Cash prizes (including the Grand Prize), Bonus Airtime and/or various lifestyle prizes. If all of the 5 (Five) "C" logos are not aligned, customers may receive other Bonus Airtime prizes of varying amounts.
  7. Spins are only valid until Midnight (23:59:59) on the day of the qualifying recharge.
  8. There is no carry over of unused spins.

Validity/Expiry of the MegaBonus Airtime Value

  1. Existing MegaBonus Terms and Conditions are applicable.
  2. MegaBonus value i.e. 200% Bonus Airtime is valid for up to 3 (Three) days from date of recharge for recharges of R99 or below and up to 5 (Five) days for recharges of R100 or more.
  3. Bonus Airtime cannot be transferred to another customer or converted to cash to buy any VAS product/service.

MegaBonus Value

  1. MegaBonus value i.e. 200% Bonus Airtime shall deplete at the following rates:
    1. Voice- R1.70/minute on per-second billing
    2. SMS- R0.50
    3. Data- R1.70/MB
  2. The MegaBonus value can only be for local Cell C to Cell C calls/SMSs and Data

Migrations

Prepaid

  1. Should a customer migrate to another prepaid tariff plan, the Spin & Win Promotion (i.e. Bonus Airtime plus MegaBonus Benefits and number of Spins) shall be forfeited.
  2. The first prepaid migration in the month is FREE, any subsequent prepaid migrations are charged at R5 per migration.
  3. Should a customer decide to migrate from Prepaid to Hybrid or from Prepaid to Postpaid, MegaBonus Benefits and number of Spins shall be forfeited.

Exclusions:

  1. Bonus Airtime & MegaBonus Benefits are only available for national local usage only, the following usage types are excluded:
    • a) International and Premium Rated SMSs and MMSs will be charged at out of bundle rates
    • b) International Calling, Roaming and Special Numbers will be charged at out of bundle rates
    • c) Data consumption while roaming internationally will not deplete from the Bonus Airtime. Data roaming rates will apply and will be charged as out of bundle rates
    • d) SMS/Voice usage while roaming shall be charged as out of bundle usage at applicable roaming rates.
    • e) All premium rated services, content services, WASP services, VASs, Bundle purchases and VAS services cannot be subscribed to using the Bonus Airtime value.
    • f) Out of bundle usage will be depleted from the Customers airtime account
  2. Emergency Airtime and Airtime Transfer transactions do not qualify as recharges and as such will not allow Prepaid Customers access to the Spin & Win Promotion.
  3. The Spin & Win Promotion is not available to customers who are on any CST, WASP and/or LCR (least cost routing) products/services.
  4. The Spin & Win Promotional benefits and MegaBonus Benefits may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion included in other Cell C's products to generate additional benefits. Cell C will regard this act as a fraudulent activity and will suspend the service immediately pending an investigation.
  5. The Spin & Win Promotional service is available to customers for personal usage whether they are individual or belong to a corporate or business account held at Cell on Prepaid. This product is not to be consumed for commercial usage or any form of on-seller usage where the customer uses this product and charges for the service.

General

  1. Any valued added services added to the account will be deducted from the customer's airtime.
  2. All Premium rated or special numbers calls, SMSs and MMSs will be charged as out of bundle usage.
  3. Cell C reserves the right to suspend the Spin and Win Promotion and its benefits in its sole discretion, including when any fraudulent activity is suspected, and if the outcome of an investigation proves that fraudulent activity did occur, Cell C shall be entitled to terminate the Spin and Win Promotion and/or benefits.
  4. If Cell C suspects or discovers any malicious or intentional conduct which gives rise to abuse and/or any fraudulent activity which results in you unfairly increasing your chances of winning a prize and/or of winning a prize during the Promotional Period, Cell C reserves the right to immediately disqualify you and/or take any necessary legal action against you. Cell C further reserves the right to recover any monies and/or prizes from a participant who has won a prize/s through such means.
  5. Cell C may amend, modify or otherwise change these terms and conditions in its sole and absolute discretion on notice to you and the amended version will be displayed in the same media as these terms and conditions. By continuing to participate in the Spin and Win Promotion you agree and understand that you will be bound by the amended terms and conditions.
  6. It is important that you understand that all customers who participate in the Spin and Win Promotion indemnify Cell C, its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors against any loss or damages, either direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from its participation in Spin and Win Promotion.
  7. Cell C has the right to withdraw, or shorten the duration of the Spin and Win Promotion in its sole and absolute discretion and will notify customers if it chooses to do so. Customers will not have a claim against Cell C in this event.

Lifestyle Prizes

  • 3500 x Cell C Devices- 875 devices per month for the duration of the Promotional Period
  • 4 x Polo Vivos - 1 car per month for the duration of the Promotional Period
  • 20 x R10 000 (ten thousand Rand) Holiday Packages- 5 packages per month for the duration of the Promotional Period
  • 8 x R2000 (two thousand) Dinner with 5 friends- 2 packages per month for the duration of the Promotional Period

There are 6 (six) Prize Categories:

  • Prize Category 'A' refers to the Bonus Airtime Prize
  • Prize Category 'B' refers to the Cash Prize
  • Prize Category 'C' refers to the Cell C Devices Prize
  • Prize Category 'D' refers to the Holiday and Dinner packages Prize
  • Prize Category 'E' refers to the Cars Prize
  • Prize Category 'F' refers to the Grand Prize

Prize Category A (Bonus Airtime)

  1. Participants stand to win Bonus Airtime of varying amounts throughout the Promotional Period.
  2. In order to have qualified for the Bonus Airtime prize, participants must have performed at least one recharge of R5 (five Rand) or more on the MegaBonus plan during the Promotional Period. In addition customers must have clicked on the "Spin" Button on the Cell C Website or Cell C App/ or selected a number/letter on USSD while the Spin is still valid i.e. before midnight on the day of recharge.
  3. In the case of a variable recharge, rounding down to the nearest fixed Cell C denomination shall apply. For example, should a customer recharge with R330, the Spin and Win Bonus Airtime prize awarded shall be rounded down to the R300 denomination. You will, however, still receive the full recharge amount (i.e. R330) to your account in addition to the Bonus Airtime Prize.
  4. The Bonus Airtime will be awarded electronically. Customers will have the airtime value credited to their account.
  5. Bonus Airtime shall also deplete at the following rates:
    1. Voice- R1.70/minute on per-second billing
    2. SMS- R0.50
    3. Data- R1.70/MB
  6. The Bonus Airtime value can only be for local Cell C to Cell C calls/SMSs and Data
  7. Bonus Airtime is valid for up to 2 (two) days from date of reward earned.
  8. Spins cannot be accumulated to extend the validity period.
  9. Automatic pay-out of Bonus Airtime will be triggered after 5 minutes of inactivity on the Cell C Website/ Cell C App and USSD.

Prize Category B (Cash)

  1. Participants stand to win cash prizes throughout the Promotional Period.
  2. In order to have qualified for the cash prize, participants must have performed at least one recharge of R5 (five Rand) or more on the MegaBonus plan during the Promotional Period. In addition customers must have clicked on the "Spin" Button on the Cell C Website or Cell C App/ or selected a number/letter on USSD while the Spin is still valid i.e. before midnight on the day of recharge.
  3. Cash prizes can only be won between 06:00 and 20:00.

Prize Category C (Cell C Devices)

  1. Participants stand to win Cell C Devices prizes throughout the Promotional Period.
  2. In order to have qualified for the Cell C devices, participants must have performed at least one recharge of R5 (five Rand) or more on the MegaBonus plan during the Promotional Period. In addition customers must have clicked on the "Spin" Button on the Cell C Website or Cell C App/ or selected a number/letter on USSD while the Spin is still valid i.e. before midnight on the day of recharge.
  3. Lifestyle prizes can only be won between 06:00 and 20:00 daily.

Prize Category D (Holiday and Dinner Packages)

  1. Participants stand to win Holiday and Dinner Packages throughout the Promotional period.
  2. In order to have qualified for the Holiday and Dinner packages, participants must have performed at least one recharge of R5 (five Rand) or more on the MegaBonus plan during the Promotional Period. In addition customers must have clicked on the "Spin" Button on the Cell C Website or Cell C App/ or selected a number/letter on USSD while the Spin is still valid i.e. before midnight on the day of recharge.
  3. Lifestyle prizes can only be won between 06:00 and 20:00 daily.

Holiday Packages

  1. The total value of the holiday package is valued at R10 000 (ten thousand Rand) which includes accommodation (bed and breakfast) for two people only
  2. Any other expenses, including meals (lunch and dinner), transport, drinks, spending money, activities etc. shall be for the winner's own account.
  3. Bookings can be made at any Sun International resort within South Africa subject to availability*
  4. Bookings must be made by the winner between 01 December to 30 November 2017
  5. Cell C shall not be held responsible for any costs incurred for transport to and from Sun International hotel/resort
  6. Lifestyle prizes can only be won between 06:00 and 20:00 daily
*Subject to availability which includes the following scenarios: bookings for public holidays; nights preceding public holidays; nights which could be deemed as an extended weekend.
* Subject to availability at the Maslow Hotel which includes the following scenarios: bookings for Weekdays/ Peak Periods deemed by Sun International; Nights preceding public holidays; nights which could be deemed as an extended weekend.

Dinner Packages

  1. The total value of the dinner package (including drinks) is valued at R2 000 (two thousand Rand)
  2. Bookings can be made at any Sun International restaurant within South Africa subject to availability
  3. Bookings must be made by the winner from 01 December 2016 to 30 November 2017
  4. The winner is liable for any costs incurred over and above the R2 000 (two thousand Rand), including but not limited to any other expenses, transport, activities etc.
  5. Cell C shall not be held responsible for costs incurred for transport to and from the restaurant
  6. Lifestyle prizes can only be won between 06:00 and 20:00 daily

Prize Category E (Car Prizes)

  1. Participants stand to win 1 car per month throughout the Promotional Period.
  2. In order to have qualified for the car prize, participants must have performed at least one recharge of R5 (five Rand) or more on the MegaBonus plan during last week of the month per month for the duration of the Promotional
  3. Period. In addition customers must have clicked on the "Spin" Button on the Cell C Website or Cell C App/ or selected a number/letter on USSD while the Spin is still valid i.e. before midnight on the day of recharge.
  4. The Car prize can only be awarded to a Participant with a valid learner's licence.
  5. In each case, the winner will take home a VW Polo Vivo Hatch 1.4 Concept.
  6. Colours per car may vary and winners will not have a choice in this regard.
  7. The prize may be collected at the time and venue notified by Cell C.
  8. Cell C shall not be held responsible for costs incurred to get to and from the venue.
  9. Insurance and maintenance of the vehicle will be for the winner's account.
  10. Winners will be expected to provide sufficient identification by way of the production of a valid identity card, drivers licence or passport.
  11. The Car Prize can only be won between 06:00 and 20:00 daily, during the last week of the month, for the duration of the promotion.

Prize Category F (Grand Prize)

Participants stand to win a Grand prize once a month throughout the Promotional Period *

  1. In order to have qualified for the grand prize, participants must have performed at least one recharge of R5 or more on the MegaBonus plan during the last week of the month per month for the duration of the competition. In addition customers must have clicked on the "Spin" Button on the Cell C Website or Cell C App/ or selected a number/letter on USSD while the Spin is still valid i.e. before midnight on the day of recharge.
  2. * In January 2017, there will be two grand prize winners of R200 000 (two hundred thousand Rand) each.
  3. Grand Prize can only be won between 06:00 and 20:00 daily, during the last week of the month, for the duration of the promotion.

If you are a winner

  1. You will be contacted by Cell C's authorised agent on behalf of Cell C. All winners will be contacted on the mobile number (MSISDN) used to participate in Spin and Win.
  2. Cash prizes will be paid into the winner's bank account within 60 (sixty days) days of the required documentation being received. Cell C Devices/ Dinner and Holiday vouchers will be shipped to the winner within 60 (sixty days) days of the required documentation being received. Winners of the Car prizes shall be required to come to Cell C's head office to collect their prize.
  3. Should Cell C not receive the required documentation timeously, the winner will forfeit the prize and such winner will have no right to claim against Cell C for any reason whatsoever.
  4. All Cash prizes will be paid into a South African bank account. If you are a winner and you do not have a South African bank account, you must provide Cell C with a letter signed by you and the account holder where both parties consent to using the account holder's bank account to receive the prize money. The letter must stipulate that you, as the winner, nominate a person with a South African bank account to receive the prize money on your behalf. This letter needs to be signed by both yourself and the nominated person. Cell C will not be held liable should any dispute arise between the winner and the recipient account holder, or should the winner ultimately not receive the Cash prize.
  5. Winners must confirm that they are the legal holders of their Cell C mobile number and that they are entitled to the prize and complete all the necessary documents required by Cell C within the stipulated time periods. If you are selected as a winner and you are not the legal owner of the mobile number, you will need permission in writing, to Cell C's satisfaction, from the legal owner of such mobile number to claim the prize. If not, the prize shall be forfeited. The decision to grant the prize in such an instance will be at the sole discretion of Cell C.
  6. If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 (seven) days from the date of the first call, or a notified winner refuses the prize or does not provide the necessary documentation within 15 (fifteen) days of notification, then that prize shall be forfeited. The potential winner will have no claims against Cell C in this regard.
  7. If a winner uses abusive language to a Cell C agent or staff member, the Cell C agent or staff member reserves the right to terminate the telephone call, and in this case the prize shall be forfeited.
  8. Prizes are not refundable and cannot be exchange for cash.
  9. Winners remain liable to pay taxes and/or other charges on the prizes and cash prizes.
  10. Winners will be required to produce proof of identity to Cell C's satisfaction. If winners cannot provide proof of identity, they will not be entitled to the prize and will have no claim against Cell C in this instance. Cash prize winners will also have to supply certified bank account details by fax or email to Cell C.
  11. Cell C's decision is final. Cell C undertakes to ensure that an independent accountant, registered auditor, admitted attorney or commissioner of oaths oversees the Spin and Win Promotion and this will be reported on Cell C's internal audit reporting procedures.
  12. You will never receive an SMS requesting that you call Cell C. Cash/ Cell C Devices/ Lifestyle prize winners will be contacted by a Cell C agent via a phone call. Messages related to Spin and Win will come from the number 0840001597. Do not call or give out your personal information to any SMS purporting to be from Cell C.
  13. If you are winner, Cell C may request your permission to publish your name and photograph, at no cost to you, for any advertising, promotional, print, point of sale or public relations material for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the end of the Promotional Period. You are entitled to decline this request.
  14. All Participants and winners indemnify Cell C, its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors against any loss or damages, either direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from its participation in Spin and Win. Prior to awarding any prize, Cell C may require you, as a winner, to sign such an indemnity.
  15. Cell C cannot be held liable for the interception or loss of your personal information while transmitted, stored or processed across the internet, including social media sites, and assumes no liability for any such interception or loss.
  16. User data collected via Spin and Win will not be used for any other purpose than for the Spin and Win promotion.
  17. It is important that you understand that all Participants take full responsibility for all costs incurred by partaking in Spin and Win.
  18. Cell C may amend, modify or otherwise change these terms and conditions in its sole and absolute discretion on notice to you, and the amended version will be displayed in the same media as these terms and conditions. By participating or continuing to participate in Spin and Win, you agree and understand that you will be bound by the amended terms and conditions.
  19. Cell C is under no obligation to inform you if you have been disqualified for breach of any condition(s) specified herein.
  20. Cell C has in its absolute right to investigate any mobile number or customer that it regards as suspicious or deemed to be involved in any fraudulent activity.
