Cell C is the proud Title Sponsor of the South African leg of the IRB HSBC World Sevens Series. Taking place in December annually, the tournament is part of the global IRB World Sevens circuit and is the flagship sponsorship for the business, as a truly global sporting event.

Based on the American concept of “Monday Night Football”, Varsity Cup and Varsity Sheild Rugby mathces attract capacity crowds and affords us a platform to engage with students across the country through a highly emotive product.

Dubbed “Rugby’s Biggest Party”, the Cell C IRB HSBC World Sevens Series in South Africa is both a high-intensity, high-quality rugby product, as well as a key event on the South African “Rugby that Rocks”!

Cell C is a proud partner of Varsity Cup and Varsity Shield Rugby - once again investing in the youth, this time through amateur rugby at University level; we remain committed to the future leaders of South Africa. The tournament runs from February to April annually, with 13 Universities participating in weekly Monday Night clashes on their campuses.
