WhatsApp Channel FAQs

- To get started, install the WhatsApp app on your smartphone or laptop/desktop.
- Save Cell C as a contact: Save 0844440040 to your contacts as 'Cell C'
- Send "Hello" or "Hi" to 084 444 0040 any day, any time!
- Browse the menu by typing the relevant menu number (e.g. Press 1 for 'Buy for myself' )
- Any WhatsApp user with a valid Cell C (prepaid, hybrid or postpaid) number
- Start a conversation on Cell C WhatsApp, and select "Balance" from the main menu and you will receive your airtime and bundle balances and applicable expiry dates.
- The WhatsApp menu will present a selection of bundles. Select your preferred bundle from the list. You will be asked to choose a payment method. Once the transaction has been successfully completed, a confirmation message will be sent to you
- Pay using airtime
- Pay using bank card. If you choose to pay with card, enter your card details on our secure payment gateway, PayFast, or select one of your saved cards to complete the purchase. Saving card details makes future purchases easier, but is optional. You can add, update or de-register your bank cards at any time, too.
- Yes, select "Buy for someone else" to buy for another Cell C SIM. Enter the recipient cell number or select from the recipient list. Make sure you enter the cell number correctly.
- Cell C WhatsApp uses data like any other WhatsApp conversation. You will need data or a Wi-Fi connection to send and receive messages

- You are unable to cancel purchases once a transaction has been successfully completed.
